The BBQ area is set up with Episode Landscape Speakers powered by Savant SmartAudio that directs the sound toward the home and reduces the sound heard away from the home. ICRealtime Cameras and record

The best technology in a house is the technology nobody has to think about.

Wired4 designs, installs and maintains the systems behind quietly well-run and easy-to-use smart homes across Northern Utah. What makes ours different isn't the equipment — everyone sells the same boxes. It's that we came out of enterprise IT, so the network is engineered, the wiring and system are fully documented, and the house is still serviceable in fifteen years.

Savant Ambassador since 2019, Elite Ambassador since its creation in 2023, the highest tier of Savant integrators in the country.

A number of our largest projects are covered by non‑disclosure agreements and cannot be shown here. We are glad to discuss them privately.

Why it keeps working

Most of our work was finished before anyone saw a screen.

The part of a system that decides whether it still works in ten years is buried in the walls, and it is the part nobody photographs. We photograph it.

Three separate networks, each in its own color of cable. Fourteen‑gauge speaker wire as standard, twelve for the long runs. Only pure copper wire, never copper-clad aluminum. Every wire terminated at both ends, tested, labeled, and written down — so the next person to service the home can read it.

Low voltage wiring sorted by color and combed at the mechanical room termination point
GRAY CAT6

General network

Everything that needs a network connection, securely segmented — televisions, access points, cameras, touchscreens, doorbells.

WHITE CAT6

Audio network

Dedicated to sound and the devices that process it, so every zone in the house stays in sync with every other one.

RED CAT6a

Video network

Ten gigabit, shielded, home‑run to one location, for video that cannot tolerate interference or a bottleneck.

It’s the little things

Custom wire guides holding cable runs clear of framing

Wire guides we designed and make ourselves. Direction changes create pinch points, and a damaged run inside a finished wall is not a thing you replace.

A labeled and tested patch panel in the equipment rack

Terminated at both ends, labeled at the panel, tested, and recorded — so a fault is a five‑minute conversation rather than an afternoon of guessing.

A pre-construction speaker bracket laser-aligned with the ceiling lights

Speaker brackets laser‑aligned to the canned lights, because a ceiling that is nearly right is the thing you notice for the next twenty years.

And not so little things

A phone showing a six-digit sign-in code

Multi‑factor authentication — using services like authto.it for one‑time codes sent by email or text. Far more secure than a traditional username and password, which can be guessed, reused or stolen.

A printed QR label whose destination is moved to a new page

Persistent QR codes — using services like offto.it so the labels on your panels and equipment can be pointed somewhere new. Printed once, they keep opening the right page for the life of the house.

Three saved versions of an equipment manual

Document archiving — using services like saveto.it to keep a copy of every manual and spec sheet for your equipment. Still there long after the manufacturer moves or removes it.

Selected work

All projects
The home is equipped with a fascia-mounted Starlink antenna, using the Long Wall Mount, that provides high-speed Internet to this remote location. It also has multiple ICRealtime Bullet Cameras and Jellyfish Lighting to surround the home.

Lake House

Bear Lake

26 zones  ·  125 lights  ·  15 cameras  ·  50 shades

A family getaway where the owners can pull any of fifteen cameras up on any television — useful when the children are in the indoor pool and the guests are not.

Media Room is equipped with a 75-Inch Samsung TV and Savant WISA Soundbar. Additional Revel In-Wall Speakers and Savant WISA Subwoofer powered by Savant SmartAudio complete the 5.1 Surround Sound system. Full Savant WiFi Lighting, a Savant REM-4000 Remote and Savant 5.5-Inch Touchscreen are also installed.

Golf Casita

Scottsdale

14 zones  ·  75 lights  ·  8 cameras  ·  8 shades

A winter residence built to be run from two states away — landscape speakers at the barbecue, a Frame TV on the patio, cameras around the whole perimeter.

For architects, builders & designers

We would rather be in the drawings than in the drywall.

The least expensive time to wire a house is before the sheetrock, and the second least expensive is never. We work from your plans, mark up what needs conduit and where the antennas have to land, and hand back a documented low‑voltage package, with clear lines of responsibility, that can be shared with other trades.

Work with us on a project
“What sets them apart is their unwavering commitment to fine‑tuning every detail of my Savant system, addressing even the smallest issues promptly — day or night.”
Mike · Homeowner
“The installation was done in phases as the home was being built, and Lyle was there for every phase up until the end.”
Tyler · Homeowner
“Without a doubt Wired4 is a step above all the others in our experience. They are real pros.”
Norm Provan · ProMark Development · Custom Home Builder

The install is the quick part. The next decade is the job.

Every new Wired4 home includes a year of round‑the‑clock support. After that there are five service plans, and we publish exactly what each one covers and what it costs — because you should know that before you need it, not after.

Service plans & response times
  1. 01Proactive monitoring, so we usually know before you do.
  2. 02Off‑site configuration backups of every system in the house.
  3. 03A complete written record of the house, kept current, in Homebook.
  4. 04Nights, weekends and holidays, at a rate published in advance.

Come and hear it outside.

We keep working systems you can walk through, rather than a showroom of things that were never installed in a real house.
